CDOT Bridge Work on US 50 East of Salida & West of Poncha Springs Tomorrow, Two Days Next Week

June 2, 2014 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - FREMONT/CHAFFEE COUNTIES – Colorado Department of Transportation Maintenance crews will improve the decks of two US 50 bridges this week and next: one structure is just west of Poncha Springs at mile point 215.7 and the other is about 12 miles east of Salida (and east of Howard) at mile point 235.6.

The work will involve milling the deck’s existing asphalt and resurfacing the structure.

TRAVEL IMPACTS:  The milling work will be done on both bridges (at different times) tomorrow, June 3, sometime between 6:30 a.m. to and 5:00 p.m. Motorists can expect single-lane, alternating traffic and a speed limit reduction from 45 mph to 40 mph. The paving is expected to be underway next Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10 and 11, on both structures—the same travel impacts will be in place. Thank you for going “Slow for the Cone Zone!”
