Glenwood Bike Path Closes for Season Tomorrow Morning

November 13, 2015 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - GARFIELD/EAGLE COUNTY – Tomorrow at 9 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation will close the Glenwood Canyon bike path—which extends from Glenwood Springs to Dotsero (mile point 116 to 131)—for the season.

“Snow we received this week is not melting in shady areas, and our crews need to get the path closed before this next storm hits,” CDOT Maintenance Patrol Supervisor Carry Griffin said.

CDOT closes the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path each winter, when winter maintenance activities on I-70 above can create unsafe conditions on the path. The path typically opens in April each year, as weather permits.
