Full closure of US 6 for tunnel inspections

April 25, 2017 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY-Motorists can expect an overnight closure of US 6 between Colorado Highway 119 and Interstate 70 on Tuesday, April 25 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

A full closure will be in place so crews can safely conduct tunnel inspections along this stretch of US 6. Inspections are necessary to report on the integrity and structure of each tunnel.

The remaining tunnels will be inspected on Wednesday, May 3 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. during the full closure of US 6 for the Jefferson and Clear Creek Counties Peaks to Plains Trail project.

Variable message boards will be utilized and traffic control signs alerting motorists of upcoming closures will be in place.
