Mount Evans to open after Memorial Day Weekend

May 26, 2017 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY—The Colorado Department of Transportation has announced that Mount Evans will open after Memorial Day Weekend due to last week's snowstorm which produced several feet of snow on the mountain.

More weather is forecasted to move in this weekend, which could bring in a significant amount of snow. Currently, approximately 20 feet of snow is covering certain sections of the roadway.

If it does not snow this weekend, CDOT crews should be able to open the road to the top of Mount Evans by June 5.
