PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Existing curb ramps are being replaced to be brought into ADA compliance and to improve public accommodation and safety, all part of CDOT’s statewide initiative. Limited disturbance is anticipated at each of the ramp locations. Existing ramps will be demolished onsite with no disturbance to grading, utilities and landscaping. Right of way to pedestrians and access to private driveways and businesses will be maintained during the period of construction. The new ramps will be wider, sloped for easier access, and finished with a slip-resistant texture. The concrete used in their construction will be fast-drying, permitting full use within 24 hours.

PROJECT LOCATION

Ramp locations are on CO 257 from MP 010.095 to MP 011.896, and on CO 392 from MP 096.314 to MP 104.363 in Weld and Larimer County in and near the Town of Windsor.

WHOLE SYSTEM. WHOLE SAFETY.

To heighten safety awareness, CDOT recently announced its Whole System — Whole Safety initiative. This project takes a systematic statewide approach to safety combining the benefits of CDOT’s programs that address driving behaviors, our built environment and the organization's operations. The goal is to improve the safety of Colorado’s transportation network by reducing the rate and severity of crashes and improving the safety of all transportation modes. The program has one simple mission—to get everyone home safely.
