Overnight full closures of US 6 Clear Creek Canyon to take place Nov. 16-19

November 12, 2020 - Central Colorado - US 6 Clear Creek Canyon

JEFFERSON, CLEAR CREEK & GILPIN COUNTIES — The Colorado Department of Transportation will close US Highway 6 (US 6) in Clear Creek Canyon between CO 58 and CO 119 during overnight hours Monday, Nov. 16 through Thursday, Nov. 19 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The closures are to conduct necessary utility survey work and other maintenance work. The closure schedule is outlined below.

CLOSURE SCHEDULE:

  • Monday, Nov. 16: US 6 will be closed between CO 58 and CO 119 from 10 p.m. Nov. 16 until 6 a.m. Nov. 17 
  • Tuesday, Nov. 17: US 6 will be closed between CO 58 and CO 119 from 10 p.m. Nov. 17 until 6 a.m. Nov. 18
  • Wednesday, Nov. 18: US 6 will be closed between CO 58 and CO 119 from 10 p.m. Nov. 18 until 6 a.m. Nov. 19
  • Thursday, Nov. 19: US 6 will be closed between CO 58 and CO 119 from 10 p.m. Nov. 19 until 6 a.m. Nov. 20  

DETOUR ROUTE:

  • Westbound detour: Take westbound I-70 to Exit 244 (EB US 6) to connect to CO 119
  • Eastbound detour: Take CO 119 to westbound US 6. Take WB US 6 to eastbound US 40. Exit US 40 to get on EB I-70 at Beaver Brook. Continue on EB I-70 to US 6 (Exit 260)
  • The detour will add about ten to 15 minutes of travel time.
