CO 114 Overlay in Gunnison to Saguache County

About the Project:

A surface treatment project on CO 114 in Gunnison and Saguache county, consisting of leveling, overlay, widening shoulders in various locations.


Project Benefits

  • A repaved road reduces damage and repair costs to cars, bicycles, and public transit.
  • Resurfacing can greatly extend the life of the asphalt pavement; Some highways may last more than 50 years with periodic resurfacing of the top layer of asphalt and timely repairs.

Work Schedule:

  • Construction will begin June 5, 2023
  • The project will be in operation Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • The project is anticipated to end at the end of October 2023

Traffic Impacts:

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Vehicles may be reduced to a single lane, throughout the duration of the project
  • These lane closures may have up to 15 minute delays
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 35 MPH
  • A 10 foot lane width restriction will be in place through the work zone
