CO 115 Improvements - Colorado Springs to Penrose

Work this Week
January 30 - July 3, 2023

Anticipated traffic impacts for the week of 2/6/2023 include:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 7: Drivers should expect some delay from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a mobile lane striping operation
  • CO 115 is reduced to one lane in each direction from Roca Roja Circle (mile point 35.5) to Rock Creek Canyon Road/Wilderness Road (MP 39)
  • Intermittent flagging for equipment access, Monday through Friday (MP 35.5 to 39.0) - follow crew instructions
  • 24/7 shoulder closures (MP 35.5 to 39.0)
  • Reduced work zone speed limit of 45 mph
  • Oversize vehicle width restriction of 11 feet
  • New culverts will be placed across three side-streets or driveways on the west side of CO 115 in the coming weeks. Each culvert may take several days to replace. Side-street access will remain open but drivers should expect flagger control at Glenrock Drive and Old Canyon City Road during work hours.

Construction activities include:

  • Rock Creek bridge work
  • Slope improvements
  • CDOT communications underground boring activity
  • Prepare for culvert installation across three side-streets or driveways on the west side of CO 115.

All work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
