CO 318 Resurfacing in Moffat County

Project Complete!

The Colorado Department of Transportation and Elam Construction of Grand junction have completed resurfacing work along CO Highway 318 in Moffat County from the Utah/Colorado State Line west of Maybell. The project included a 1” hot mix asphalt lane level paving and a 1.5” HMA overlay located on CO 318 for 12.5 miles from Mile Point 0, at UT/CO State Line, to MP 12.5, west of Maybell. Other work consisted of rumble strip installation and pavement marking.

Project Benefits:

  • The HMA added approximately 10 years of life to the highway, provided a smoother road surface and durability by increasing the resistance of ruts and road damage. This allows for a smoother and safer drive for motorists.
  • Other benefits of the project included installation of rumble strips which will warn motorists when they are leaving their lane and help with crash reductions.
